Gmail users who updated their iPhones, and iPod touches, to the latest version of the iPhone operating system (called iOS now) might be experiencing a little dejavu. By default you can't delete messages from your Gmail account on your iPhone/iPod touch running iOS 4. Luckily, you can revert back to the old deleting behavior pretty easily.
Here you can see my Gmail account with the iOS 4 default setting. Swiping an email message reveals an 'Archive' button (which used to be a delete button). You can move an email message to the Trash folder manually... but that is far too many steps.
To turn off message archiving just tap on the Settings app and select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars." This will list all the email account you have on your iPhone under the 'Account' section. Tap on your Gmail account.
This is what your Gmail account settings should look like (roughly). Tap on the On/Off switch next to "Archive Messages." Now you can delete emails like a mad man.
Zombie Gunship is decent copy the Call Of Duty AC-130 game play. You are the gunner in the aircraft AC-130 with some major artillery at your disposal. Your job is to take out all the Zombies and provide an escape route for the People.
Story: There really isn't much story here in this game. But this is a one of the games you just pickup and play for 10 minutes or so. So lack of a story doesn't really hurt this game.
Game Play: If you have played any of the Call of Duties with the AC-130 levels you will pick this right up. But for those who haven't you will not have any problems either. You only control the guns on the AC-130 while it flies around the bunker that all the people are trying to escape to. You need to shot the Zombies before they kill the people or get to the bunker. Your game ends if you kill 3 people or let a Zombie reach the bunker. Controls are easy and the you have different zoom levels depending on the type of gun you are using.
Graphics and Sound: The graphics in this game are ok. First you are using a thermal vision to see the Zombies and people below so graphics are pretty much just black and white. You are also very high up in the AC-130 so Zombies look very small. You can also see some jaggy edges and low resolutions due to this being an upscaled iPhone game. But the thermal vision effects do a good job of hiding these problems. Sound is good I like the sounds of the guns and the callouts on the radio sound real enough.
Lasting Appeal: First off the game only has one map :( . I really think it could use a couple more maps to keep things more visually stimulating. But the Zombie and People spawns are different every game. To keep you going in the game you earn coins. These coins can be used to purchase guns and gun improvements. It is fun upgrading the guns but so far I don't see a big difference when I upgrade them. There is raking using game center so you can keep track of how you and your friends are doing. There is nno multiplayer game play at this time.
Final Thoughts: I bought this game because it had some good reviews and was only $0.99. But I keep playing because i love blowing up Zombies. I don't think this game will keep me interested for the long term, but I am getting my $ worth. I would recommend this game if you like Zombie games and you liked the Call of Duty AC-130 game play.
